Arran is a privately owned specialty chemical company located in Athlone, Ireland approximately two hours west of Dublin. The current manufacturing program includes a range of flavor and fragrance intermediates, based on aromatic aldehydes, oxipenes and pentenone chemistry, with new products in development. The range of pharmaceutical intermediates includes alkylamines and hydrochlorides, Grignard-based chemistry, mandelic acid derivatives and an extensive range of chiral reagents, catalysts and other synthons. Specialty products for other applications include "designer acrylates", pheromones, organometallics and imidazole derivatives. Additionally, Arran offers R&D and process development services and custom synthesis for quantities from grams to tons.
