Services: Boehringer Ingelheim (BI) develops and produces Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API's). Special capabilities include highly potent compounds, controlled substances, phytochemicals, chiral agents, and sugar derivatives. All manufacturing is performed in full compliance with ICH and FDA cGMP requirements. The company has API manufacturing sites in Germany, the US, Italy and Spain. Major capacity expansion projects are underway at both the US and Italian locations. The U.S. manufacturing facility in Petersburg, VA has a sitewide DEA license to produce controlled substances. Overall company capabilities include pilot plant and launch facilities capable of carrying product from bench scale through full commercial production.
